Details

Derby is your western gateway to the Kimberley and the Gibb River Road. Everyone is welcome to stay and take some time to see some of the sights nearby & enjoy the activities held by various local groups. These include the famous Mud Crab Races, Derby Cup, Derby Rodeo, Boab Festival & Speedway (amongst others). There’s also the Sculptures on the Marsh, the highest tides in the Southern Hemisphere, wetlands teeming with birdlife and many other local attractions to see.

Fitzroy Crossing is in the heart of the Martuwarra (Fitzroy) River. A wonderful little town that is a hub to a vast array of local history, from here you can visit Danggu Gorge and see the spectacular colourful rock walls. A little bit further out is Mimbi Caves, a place to camp and book in a tour to experience the history of the Gooniyandi people and see a small window into the Devonian Reef System, a 500 million year old reef system that used to be part of an inland sea
