Australia’s Golden Outback

Australia’s Golden Outback region provides diverse outback tourism opportunities and holiday destinations, with everything to suit all tastes and budgets. Covering 54 per cent of Western Australia, it stretches from the rugged red earth of Mount Augustus in the north of the Gascoyne-Murchison region to the sweeping snow-white beaches of Esperance, Fitzgerald Coast and the South Coast. The natural landscape is a dazzling display of outback plains, huge deserts and salt lakes, rugged rocky outcrops, wild woodland and some of the whitest beaches in the world.

Gascoyne region

Covering about 5.5 per cent of Western Australia, the Gascoyne region enjoys 600km of pristine Indian Ocean coastline and stretches about 500km inland, presenting a smorgasbord of bush and coastal attractions. Don’t miss the internationally recognised Ningaloo Reef near Exmouth or the splendid outback experiences offered by Kennedy Range National Park.

The Avon Valley

Ideal for caravanning and camping, the Avon Valley stretches from Beverley to New Norcia and is an hour’s drive from Perth.

Toodyay

Nestled in the rolling hills of the picturesque Avon Valley, Toodyay radiates rustic charm and ambience. Explore the many local attractions or outdoor activities in and around town and stay at one of the camping and caravanning outlets at Toodyay Holiday Park & Chalets.
