WA’s buzzing caravanning scene

The Caravan Industry Association of Australia’s 2018 State of the Industry report revealed nature-based and social activities such as visiting a pub or restaurant remained the most popular activities for domestic and international travellers. The statistics revealed 82 per cent of responding domestic travellers participated in social activities, 63 per cent outdoor/nature-based activities and 45 per cent dining at a restaurant or cafe.

“The figures demonstrated that international guests were motivated to do a wide array of activities during their trips, including bushwalking and visiting local tourist attractions, whereas domestic travellers were primarily interested in the social and outdoor experiences that caravanning and camping provides,” the spokesperson said.

Here are some more great ways to enjoy your time caravanning:

• Make sure you take regular stops to stretch your legs and take some photos of WA’s amazing scenery. Your Instagram followers will thank you.

• Bring along your camping gear and sleep under the stars.

“Western Australia offers a particularly breathtaking array of views and sights, from remote towns and bushland, to breathtaking beaches and incredible wine regions,” the spokesperson said.

“Some of our favourite places in WA include the breathtaking Cable Beach and Gantheaume Point in Broome, Karijini National Park where you can enjoy glamping at the eco-retreat or kick back and relax at Dales Gorge Campground, Ningaloo Reef – a World Heritage site – and Rottnest Island where you can either stay on the island itself or catch a ferry over for a day trip from Perth.”
